Founding Account Executive

Our first hire outside the founding team. A hybrid role: part full-cycle sales, part AI-first implementation. Own new revenue, and use our AI tools to learn how each customer works so we can automate it.

Docflow builds AI agents that run the back office for healthcare providers. Our automation handles the work that buries their teams: document intake, prior authorizations, order entry, and payer portal workflows. Customers start with a paid pilot, see real work getting done within weeks, and expand from there.

We’re a small, scrappy, AI-native founding team, and we’re growing fast. Our pipeline is already bigger than we can work. That’s why we’re hiring you.

The Role

You’ll be our first hire outside the founding team, and this is a true founding seat. It’s also a hybrid role: part full-cycle sales, part AI-first implementation. You’ll own new revenue from sourcing and qualifying through demo, pilot, and close, plus expanding the customers you land. And you won’t just sell the product. You’ll use our AI tools to learn how each customer’s work actually gets done, and then own getting their automation live, pulling in our product engineer when the build calls for it.

That combination is the whole point of this role. The best person here has real sales experience and is also deeply organized and process-minded, the kind of person who sees a messy manual workflow and instinctively wants to automate it. You don’t need to be an engineer. You need to think in systems and steps, and be excited to learn how software and automation actually get built. You will learn a tremendous amount here about both.

You’ll start with a deep rolodex of warm leads we’ve already built (hundreds of qualified prospects and active deals waiting for attention) and grow that list through outbound, conferences, and referrals. You’ll work directly with the founders every day. Your first weeks are structured training: learning the product, the industry, and riding along on live deals. We pay guaranteed ramp compensation while you get there.

What You’ll Do

  • Run the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, demo, scope pilots, close, and expand accounts
  • Use our AI tools to learn how a customer’s work actually gets done today, and turn that into a clear picture of what we’re automating
  • Own a signed pilot all the way to live automation, staying in the lead and looping in our product engineer when the build needs one
  • Own follow-up on our existing pipeline and keep every deal moving
  • Shape the internal tools you use, so every deal and every implementation gets faster for the whole team
  • Travel roughly half your weeks for regional industry conferences and customer visits across the US, typically 2 to 3 day trips
  • Work from our North Hollywood WeWork office when you’re not on the road
  • Feed what you learn from customers back into the product and the sales playbook
  • Help define what sales and implementation at Docflow look like, because you’re building both with us

What We’re Looking For

Must have:

  • 4+ years of software sales experience, including at least 2 years in a full-cycle closing role. You’ve sourced your own pipeline, carried a quota, and signed customers, not just booked meetings.
  • A strong process and systems mindset. You’re highly organized and you get real satisfaction from turning a messy manual process into a clean automated one.
  • Scrappy, hungry, and adaptable. As the first non-founder hire, you’ll do things well outside a normal sales job, and that should excite you.
  • Willingness to travel about 50% and work in-office five days a week when you’re not traveling.
  • Genuine interest in AI-based automation and how software gets built.

Preferred:

  • Healthcare sales experience, or experience selling into provider or back-office operations
  • You actually use AI tools yourself, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Bolt, Lovable, v0, or Replit
  • Hands-on experience with workflow or process automation of any kind
  • Based in Los Angeles, or ready to be

Compensation and Benefits

  • On-target earnings of $140,000 to $170,000 depending on experience, split roughly 50/50 between base and commission
  • Guaranteed compensation during your initial ramp period while you train
  • Founding-team equity
  • Health insurance
